Players take on the role of soldiers in the Coalition of Ordered Governments (COG) army, fighting against the Locusts using a variety of weapons and tactics. The game takes place on a fictional planet called Sera, which is in the midst of a long and brutal war between the human race and a race of creatures called the Locust Horde.
